File management workflow & process

Step 1. Shoot to SD Card

• Represents the beginning of the process.

Step 2. Transfer RAW Files to Laptop

• RAW files from the SD card are copied to the laptop.

• Backup created on laptop.

Step 3. Backup to Server

• The laptop creates a backup of the RAW files, which is then sent to a server for safe storage.

Step 4. Sorting and Culling

• Files on the laptop are sorted and rated (1–5 stars).

• This step involves decision-making where the ratings are applied.

Step 5. Import to Lightroom

• All files with a ranking (rated 1–5) are imported into Lightroom.

• Metadata tagging step.

Step 6. Metadata Tagging

• Files in Lightroom are tagged with relevant metadata for SEO purposes.

Step 7. Select Files for Photoshop

• Selected images are moved from Lightroom to Photoshop for more advanced edits.

Step 8. Advanced Edits in Photoshop

• Selected images undergo advanced editing.

Step 9. Return to Lightroom for Final Export

• After editing in Photoshop, the files are returned to Lightroom for final processing.

  • Lightroom files are stored indefinitely and backed up to server (moved off of laptop)

Step 10. Export to Client Cloud Share

• Export the final images to the client’s cloud sharing platform.

Step 11. Delivery to Client
